A Lesson from the Farmer

Here in Ireland farms are what you see the most!!
We are now living on a farm and I've been experiencing the work of a farmer. I'm now begin to understand better Psalm 23.

From what I’m learning the farmer confronts with strong winds on the winter time and cold rainy days to feed and watch for the sheep and cattle. Now is spring time and it’s also lambing season so I find the farmer helping the sheep and cattle to deliver their offsprings and many times find the little lambs killed by the fox or the farmer sometimes can find a sheep entangled by the thorns on her way and a bird crow has eaten the animals’s eyes even when it’s still alive!!!

Oh the life of the farmer!!! Filled with struggles and cares and yet the farmer remains in peace of mind!
He uses his voice to talk to his children and when he yells he’s yelling at the animals!! That’s the best that I’ve learned. Animals of the farm are for yelling and children are for talking in a loving tone of voice!!!

The life of the farmer has taught me how strong the farmer is for even after helping a cow having its calf a few hours later mother cow can sit on its baby and all the toil of the night be over in a few minutes.... how much more stronger is a farmer than a regular person that lives in the city!! What contrast from the lofty mountains and the peaceful green grass and the melody of birds to the lofty buildings of the city and the noisy sounds of cars and buses in the city!!! No wonder that one has a peaceful mind after facing winds or rain and muddy boots but breathing clean air and exercising while the other has a cloudy mind after riding and sitting on a car after spending the day sitting on an office.

We need to find balance in our lives. Wether we are in the city or in the farm! It’s ideal that we all could find a place in the country and plant our own food and have lots of space for our children to run and play. Let our prayer be that God might help us to find the balance and be moderate in all things “Let your moderation be known unto all men. The Lord is at hand.”
 ( Philippians 4:5)

Here goes some of our week

The week began with lots of rain and very cold. It rained hail and the top of the mountains had snow.
On Wednesday we had our raw day and we had our delicious fruit salad in the morning followed by oats with our homemade walnut and cashews milk and green salad for lunch with guacamole. For dinner a fruit or a smoothie.
Tuesday we had black beans and brown rice with cooked pumpkin.
Thursday we had left over black beans so we made a delicious black bean soup.
Friday was pasta.
Thursday was our wedding anniversary and my mother in law went to the hospital
On sabbath my mother in law rested in the Lord. She was fighting illness for years and we prayed many times for when whenever the Lord wanted to take her that it would be fast and no suffering so we praise God for answering our prayers!! She’s now waiting for the first resurrection when the dead in Christ shall rise
16For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:
17then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.18Wherefore comfort one another with these words.( 1 Thessalonians 4:16-18)

The hope that we have in Christ Jesus is so comforting!!

The living righteous are changed “in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye” [1 Corinthians 15:52]. At the voice of God they were glorified; now they are made immortal and with the risen saints are caught up to meet their Lord in the air. Angels “gather together His elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other” [Matthew 24:31]. Little children are borne by holy angels to their mothers’ arms. Friends long separated by death are united, nevermore to part, and with songs of gladness ascend together to the City of God. GC 644, 645
